Collaboration in today’s music industry can feel complicated.
Most professional collaborations operate on a royalty-based structure. In general, contributors receive between 10–20% per person involved in a project. This means that for every collaborator you bring in, you allocate a percentage of royalties for their contribution.
In addition, many collaborators charge an upfront fee on top of royalty shares. This protects them from financial risk — but it also increases the pressure on independent artists who are already funding studio time, equipment, and production themselves.
For many “young and upcoming” artists, that phrase often translates to: passionate, talented… and self-funded.
So when artists hear the word collaboration, hesitation is understandable.
I operate legally and transparently — with contracts, proof of intellectual property, and clear ownership agreements. Every contributor owns what they bring to the table.
I do not charge upfront fees.
My structure is simple and fair.
Ownership begins at 100%.
In a two-person collaboration, this starts at 50/50.
20% distribution fee.
My distributor operates via a label structure. While we are not signed artists under them, the 20% royalty provides access to professional infrastructure, monetisation, reporting, and proper global distribution.
This leaves 80% to be split between collaborators.
Contribution-based split.
The final split depends on what each collaborator brings to the project.
If I compose and write everything and you provide vocals, the split may reflect that (for example 20% to the vocalist).
If you bring a fully written song and I compose and produce the music, we may agree on a 50/50 split (40% each after distribution).
Everything is discussed upfront. No hidden costs. No surprise deductions.
I am an independent artist, which means I balance collaborations alongside competitions, commissioned work, and professional projects. Transparency around timeframes is important to me, and I communicate clearly if scheduling shifts.
I have an established and trusted relationship with my distributor. They provide:
Monthly royalty breakdowns
Monetisation tracking
Professional distribution via a label infrastructure
Reliable payouts
I have never experienced payout or distribution issues with them, and I intend to keep that consistency.
I am active across many platforms and will gladly brainstorm anywhere convenient.
However, official confirmations must be done via email.
This protects both of us. No misunderstandings. No “we only discussed it” situations.
Screenshots with a written confirmation (“Let’s proceed with this”) are also acceptable.
I will not accept less than 20%, and I will not ask you to accept less than 20%.
Fairness works both ways.
Commissioned and professional projects fund my livelihood and therefore take priority.
If I am working on multiple collaborations simultaneously (which does happen), I will:
Communicate clearly
Provide estimated timeframes
Update you if timelines shift
The only other time-sensitive interruptions are competitions, as they operate on strict deadlines.
Yes, contracts are involved — but they are there for protection, not pressure.
You will always have time to read, review, and consider before committing.
You are also welcome to discuss ideas with me via email, WhatsApp, or any preferred platform before anything becomes formal.
Reaching out does not obligate you to work with me. And there is absolutely no hard feeling if you decide not to proceed.
Below are selected collaborations I’ve worked on, with brief descriptions where possible.
Due to legal agreements, not all projects can be publicly displayed.
I’ve kept this section concise to maintain clarity and focus.
At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a “Providers” button.
These are industry professionals and service providers I have personally worked with and trust. I am comfortable recommending them based on direct experience.
If you’d like to explore a collaboration, send me an email or reach out via any of my social platforms.
Let’s build something meaningful.
